OMG it has been good. WE started with a visit to a noodle village where we visited 4 houses that made noodles but in different ways. We also visited a mushroom farm - beautiful mushrooms growing in plastic bags full of sawdust. Visit to a market to buy a couple of chickens, veg and fruit. Rice, pepper, tea and coffee we saw all these growing today. Sadly we also saw a great deal of plastic rubbish. The rice fields were pretty and it must take years to build them and months to maintain them. Everything around here is done by hand. Also one familymay own only a couple of the small fields - so not a lot. The tea is now cut by machine, except the really expensive stuff and the bottom has dropped out of the pepper and rice market. Today started with me watching the boys getting the bikes ready for the journey. This included tying an old pillow to one of the bikes to make a softer seat for one of my travelling companions. Our first stop was at another lovely waterfall which we had to get to over a suspension bridge. Apparently the locals swim in the pool and then use the warm spring water to shower - it was idealic. My Son temples are older than Angkor Wat and never as extensive but are in such a great setting. Son means mountain and you can see why this place is called that. I am now travelling with two Maori women who are actually living in Perth Australia- Maureen and Ameria. The journey yesterday included lunch and a swim at a waterfall and was as spectacular as ever.

The Hoi An I remember is here but you have to look for it. There are crowds, sellers and noise but if you look the beautiful buildings are still there. I went round several today and they were empty - most of the crowd just wanted a selfie in front of the building!! The best visit was the Precious Heritage Art Gallery Museum - it is basically a museum of ethnic minority’s costumes. What makes it so special are the photographs by Rehahn (a French photographer) ...
