The photos are of the Kek Lok Si Buddhist Temple - the largest in SE Asia and well worth the visit, especially as they were getting ready for Chinese New Year.
Today’s blog however is about the buses. Yesterday it was easy, on at the start of the route, off at the end - reverse the procedure to come back. Today I wanted to get off en route which to be honest wasn’t where the problem was - got off, saw temple - went back to bus stop to realize it was a one way road and I had no idea where the bus stop to go in the opposite direction was. So I ended up getting on the bus - going to the end (actually only 4 stops)- having a nice cup of tea at one of the main tourist attractions on the island, whilst the driver was doing the same and then I just got on the bus and came back. The driver had said I couldn’t just pay to stay on and as the bus sat there for nearly half an hour I could see why.
Just in case anyone is wondering- buses here are: 1. Clean: 2 Modern (both buses and main stops have electronic signs keeping you informed about where the bus is and where it is going to next!!) 3. Safe
