Start well and it can only get better - although it is hard to see how.

Yesterday I had strangers using their wifi to ensure I got the right Monorail to the hotel, a french girl (living here) chatting to me and a foot massage to die for.

Today started not so well - at least that what I thought at the time - I bought a two day ticket for the hop on hop off open topped bus. Between stop one and two I went to get my glasses out of my bag and you guessed it out came my ticket - last seen fluttering away in the wind!! I went to the driver and explained - he said fine as long as I was on the bus but the hop off and on to the next no sorry. I bought another two day ticket and hopped on and off all day. Brilliant, definitely worth the first and to be honest the second ticket.

The reason I said it turned out for the best is - I had budgeted for one ticket and only had enough money for that plus food and the ticket to go up the tower. As I have gone up market and got a room with a safe, like a sensible person I had left all valuables etc behind in my room. At the end of a great day sightseeing, it was raining as it only can in SE Asia, so I decided to look to see if I had enough for dinner without going back to the hotel. I didn’t but I did have enough for a G&T as it was happy hour. I spent a lovely hour with the french girl from yesterday and a lovely young man from India who have planned the next two weeks for me!! I also heard all about his family back in India. Oh no need for dinner as the French girl was the manager and two snacks appeared while I was distracting the staff and stopping them working!!
