In about 1860 Capt Fawcett had some land in Pinjarra. He wanted more so he went over the scarp and took up land at 'Mokine' and the track he used to get there is now called the Capt Fawcet Track. We had another annual trip to Wellington Dam. They seem to be getting bigger with about 35 people this time. The weather was perfect, just warm during the day and not cold at night. There were not too many marron and of 15 the boys caught last night only 1 was size. Near Gingin and about an hour from Perth is a caravan park on a farm. It was not what I was expecting but a great place to get away all the same. There is not much to do but it is very relaxing. There is lots of bird life in the area and farm animals for the kids to look at and feed. In the late afternoon all the animals come up for a feed and the kids get to hand feed them.
