We had another annual trip to Wellington Dam. They seem to be getting bigger with about 35 people this time. The weather was perfect, just warm during the day and not cold at night.
There were not too many marron and of 15 the boys caught last night only 1 was size. I did see a lot of baby marron and the water level in very high so we should get a couple of good seasons in the near future.
We also saw more Red Fin Perch this year than ever before. They look like they are going to wipe out everything else there if we are not careful. Alex had great fun catching them and proved he was the best fisher man there but he also put in the most effort.
With the water level so high it meant the camping spots were at a premium and we saw lots of people looking for a spot, lots more than usual.
I conned Adam into having a go in his 4by into the water. He did it and got all the way through and out so I had to con him to try again since he had broken the surface. The inevitable happened and he got bogged. He almost got out by him self but in the end I had to snatch him out.
We had a great weekend and will definitely be doing it again next year.
