so we flew all night and got here after a 3hr layover in Singapore. When we arrived Daz knew what to do, cos he has been here many times before so I just tagged along. We got a shuttle bus from the airport to Patong. It makes a stop on the way, to check where everyone is going so they can drop you off, but really it is to try to sell you and overpriced tour. We got dropped off at Banzan market and walked to the hotel from there. While we were at the 7eleven Daz's girlfriend and a friend rocked up on a bike. We all checked into the hotel.
We are staying at Presley Guest house, where the Elvis bar is. it is a pretty good hotel. Probably better than most of the places I have stayed in asia.
I was pretty tired but we decided to go for a walk so Daz could catch up with some friends and I could get the lay of the land. We walked all over the place and visited a few bars. Daz did some shopping but I am still looking for some new shorts. To me it is just like any part of asia with shops and stalls everywhere selling fakes. just the kind of place I love.
After I had my nanny nap we headed out for the night to celebrate Daz's birthday. To start we went to an all you can eat BBQ place. They have a lot of raw and marinated meat and seafood and put a BBQ on your table so you cook your own. A lot of the stuff was too spicy for my taste but I still enjoyed it and it was dirt cheap.
After dinner we hit Bangala Rd. This is your typical Asian street full of girly bars and lady boys. We just walked around looking for a while then we managed to get a seat near the lady boys bar. They seemed to take a liking to me. I wasn't too serious and grabbing at them, they all called me papa (grand dad) and there was a spare seat next to me. I was shocked to see how for they would go, a few of them were happy to show EVERYTHING. At one point I remember one of them sitting on my knee and flashing EVERYTHING and a huge crowd of people around us were all taking pictures. An ugly old lady boy grabbed my hand and put it between his/her legs and Daz took a photo so she said "money". It was ALL about money. we did tip a couple of them a few bucks but mostly they were playing to the crowd and using me as a prop. I feel so used this morning. hahaha.
we finished up with cake in Daz's room, delivered by 4 girls, at about 2am. I don't remember my head hitting the pillow, I was soo tired and I slept till 8.30 which is very late for me.
