dzasta travels
Today I went down to Miraflores, the upmarket part of Lima. It is right on the coast on top fo cliffs with million dollar views and price tags to match. There is a walking path around the top and I walked it for a couple of hours. Everyman and his dog was out walking their dog, the ´beautiful´people were out jogging and the place just stank of money. It seems ´camel toe is a fásion statement for the fat old ladies and it is not a good look. Larcomar is the newest sensation in the area. It is a shopping mall built right into the cliffs. It was amazing to see but to me it was an overpriced, upmarket food hall in the best location ever. I considered going down to the water but I realised if I go down I will have to get back up. About a mile in from the beach is the backpacker heartland. Hostels, hash houses and tour companies everywhere. The area around Parque Kennedy, named after JFK for some reason, is full of tour companies and you can do day tours of the city from there. I might do that when I get back here in about 4 weeks. I had breaky there at Burger king..Megadoble mmmm. Double everything. When I come back to Lima I will stay here at Hotel Espana. The price is reasonable and the lady at the front desk is soooo helpful and it is in a great area. The traffic is a bit noisey in the morning but Im usually awake anyway. I gotta go catch a bus. See ya
