This is a s*** blog site I am having trouble loading photos.
We took the bus up into the mountains from Arba Minch, to see the Dorze. It was probably the longest and steepest mountain trail I have been on. We travelled from almost zero to 2'500 mtr. Up at the village it was cold and wet and made walking in thongs hard in the slippery mud.
I had a good look around and the young guy who showed me around was interesting. He explained they build their houses 12mtr tall so when they get attacked by termites they cut off the bottom and move it. It is Sunday so there are not many people around. They also do weaving so I was taken to seen the weaving shed but again Sunday and no one there. I had to dress up as a Doreen king and pose for the obligatory photo.
I also had morning tea. A pancake made from fermented pulp from a banana tree, some brown stuff they claimed to be honey and araki. The taste I was getting was old hessian bag, now there's another taste sensation.
On the bus back to town the locals were having a go about the farangi being on the bus? They usually go in air con Toyotas?

Julie Dellas Hessian bag; that doesn't sound much more appealing than your usual meat on a stick. Enjoying whatever photos and videos you manage. Love from us. X
