i started out nice and early this morning. Chicken bus to the border. Then I met a young Irish girl and things went wrong. We got chatting about the border crossing and she said she heard it is chaos on the Costa Rican side. There was a guy selling tickets on the Tica bus and they were only $12 so we decided to take it and let them do the work. Well the border on the Costa Rican side was easy as. Walk up get stamped X-ray luggage and get back on the bus.
The bus is going to San Jose but I am getting off at the bus station in Liberia. We didn't stop at any bus station along the way. The Irish chick got off in the middle of nowhere. She lived here for a year and seemed to know her way around. By the time she got off I knew I had missed my stop.
We eventually got to San Jose. I tried to complain but as usual no one speaks English. I is really no big deal cos I can get a bus back to Santa Elena tomorrow, I just miss Liberia.
There is an upside to all this. The Tica bus hotel. It is a pretty good room, reasonable price, TV and a nice HOT shower. I am so over cold showers.

I changed my opinion of the hotel. Overnight it is soo noisey. The street out the front is loud. The noise from the passengers echoes through the place and the busses come all night and sit there for 1/2 hr with the motor running. Everything else is great, just the noise at night. But I still got to have another HOT shower this morning and wash my hair with shampoo, instead of soap. I feel almost human again.
