Duck Attack
We left Rotorua this morning to head to the Waitomo caves to see some glowworms and do a spot of black water rafting - mostly gentle tubing and wadding through some cool caves but with some jumping backward over waterfalls into the caves in the pitch black!!
As we had a little time, we took a drive through the hyped, scenic town of Cambridge (nothing to write home about) and stopped in at the beautiful, extensive Hamilton Gardens. We settled down by the duck pond, got out our picnic and suddenly they started appearing. A few near ones changed their waddle paths to bring themselves closer, others flew over from the other side of the pond and all the others in the pond chose that moment to leave to see what we had brought. It was touch and go, but in the end Dann was able to protect the lamb couscous and the ducks lost interest, especially as another picnic was being unwrapped at the other end of the pond.
