So it is official - I have been to the highest and widest pass in the world - Throng La Pass at 5416m - sadly I was accompanied by another 50 Ranulph Fiennes wannabes, but still I was there!!

News of a plane crash in Nepal reached us all today - just to confirm to anyone with parental concerns - I will have my feet firmly on the ground whilst in Nepal!

One down, one left - Annapurna base camp in a week's time. Between now and then about 120 miles and 10,000m of ascent. That will be easy compared to the 7 hour local bus trip tomorrow, especially when we have to change buses halfway to walk round a landslide!!
