Arrived in Brisbane after only a short bus ride. Nice city, very small compared to Melbourne and Sydney but definitely worth a visit. We stayed in a cool hostel that had a roof top pool and FREE internet (even though there was always a queue). Surfers Paradise was very strange, it was not like Australia at all. We could have been anywhere like Benidorm or Spain, there was nothing about it that was Ozzy! I am glad we only had a 2 night stop over here. The beach was nice, but the rip was so dangerous in the sea that there are only small sections of the massive stretch of beach that you can swim with lifeguard supervision and even then you have to be really careful.
