The group surprised Ruth last night with a couple of signed cards to remember them and the occasion plus a happy birthday cake while the restaurant sang to her. The whole thing was lovely. Walked to a night market after the meal and returned to the hotel about 11 before the curfew! One picture I have provided needs rotating and blowing up. Some interesting facts about the curfew and other things. Trip to the museum of ethnicity followed by a trip to a local waterfall which was stunning. Lovely blue pools of water in which you could swim. We looked at the goosebumps on the others and gave it a miss. The bear sanctuary was good with the bears striking poses and everyone ooing and aghing. The countryside views are stunning and the people happy but poor. There seems little resentment after what the yanks did to them. As usual the tuk tuk ride to and from everything was hairy but exciting. We are doing things we would never dream of in England. A meal in someone's home tonight followed by a trip to an old colonial bar. Free day tomorrow so we will both see if the massages are any gentler than the Thai one.
