Well we made it to Coober Pedy at lunch time and what a fabulous experience so far. We awoke to clear skies and the weather has been perfect today at around 20deg. Very RED but they have had a lot of rain here recently which is quite unusual and a few of the tourist attractions are not running and people on some of the 4 wheel drive roads are stranded with people unable to get back to town.
In the photo you can see some of the mounds of dirt that house different buildings and there is just a frontage showing. We are booked to go on a 3 hour tour (at 8.20) in the morning that will be a shock to the system!!!! It takes in an underground church and house so should be interesting.
We were walking up the street before to get our chefs specialty pizza which has (don't read if you are vegetarian) kangaroo crocodile & emu on it (absolutely delicious I might add) and we popped in to a Kangaroo feeding session at a place for orphaned kangaroos. We learnt a lot about kangaroos from this and saw a young one being fed in its home which like a padded shopping bag. He then got out and had a wee hop about sniffing at people's shoes and we got to feed and pat full grown ones with dried banana and wasabi peas which they love. Apparently some of the leaves in the wild have a bite to them!!!
Thanks to everyone who leaves messages for us,if you don't want to write on the blog you can email us on [email protected] or message on 0212355930 we would love to hear from you.

maree Hi Stephanie & Chris Sounds like you are having a wonderful time and it is great to keep in touch. We have just had Queen's Birthday so was lovely to have a long weekend. Had a really good frost here on Sunday morning but as usual the day was lovely. Had dancing this weekend so it has been full on. Would much rather be doing what you are. Take care, Maree
