Chris writes. Hi guys, well we are finally on our way up into the middle of this big country which is what I was really looking forward too. The landscape has changed from green to a very dry red dirt country with roads disappearing into the distance. The miles have just ticked away today (400)with the van in cruise control and the cd's blasting out easy listening tunes .the speed limit is 110 k/m but with light traffic the van just floats along at 95k/m and is a pleasure to drive at that speed although it still cruises good at up to 120 km too. Had a kangaroo bounce across the road in front of us at approx 4pm so seeing was getting to kangaroo happy hour it was time to park up at a roadside park up area for the night along with 8 other campers . A picture perfect landscape to wake up to out our bedroom window. The temperature today had been about 20deg and a mixture if cloudy and sunny but very pleasant.
There is no coverage of any sort here and for the 1st time we feel quite isolated and it will be very dark tonight.
Coober Pedy which is about 160kms away awaits us tomorrow which should entertain us for a few days and may be even invest in a Opal? ???
