Here we are in Katherine having spent 2 lovely days here. Never thought we would want to soak in hot springs pools in a 34 deg temperature but it was heaven. As one old guy put it you know you've had enough when your hands are as wrinkled as your face. Off now to Darwin so will catch the blog up when we get there.

Hi Again Having breakfast outside at 8-30am in a pleasant 21 deg is a very nice way to start your day indeed driving on up the highway now seems a normal thing to be doing by 10am viewing more for those very long and dry landscapes. One thing that has amazed us is the termite mounds made of red dirt and in sizes from 30 cm to over 2 metres tall . They are there beside the road and back as far as you can see . Hi again guys, well it's just about happy hour again on Sunday night so I'll fill you in since our last blog. We left the quiet camp area at The Standley Chasm and drove back into Alice to re fuel and top up supplies then headed north again . The speed limit is open so you can go as fast as you like on those big long straight roads that disappear into a watery mirage into the distance . It's funny because the next sign will say the speed limit drops down to 130km...
