Today I got up earlyish to check out of Gilligans and head up to Port Douglas! I had a bit of time before my transfer after I'd checked out, so I went round to try and sort ofut my free jungle tour...wasn't completely successful, but at least the guy seemed to be trying to get it sorted. I grabbed some breakfast in woolworths (a very healthy lemon donut...yum!) and then went back to see Gunilla and say bye! I met Scott and Cara outside and Cara decided to just jump on my bus and come with me because she didn't have a plan, so that was cool, I suddenly had a travel buddy!

It took about an hour to drive up to Port Douglas, and we stayed in a place called Parrotfish which had given me a free bus transfer which was pretty cool! It was a little weird - very off season so it was very quiet! The guy who checked us in didn't seem very happy to see us but oh well! We were in a room with two german girls who had just got a job in a hotel up the road, they were pretty nice! Was glad I had Cara though because the place was a bit of a ghost town...

We went for a walk around town and it was all very quiet, but nice! I can imagine in high season it's a lovely wee seaside place! After a wander we went back and chilled at the pool at the hostel because it was too hot, but raining too much on and off to go round to the beach!

After a while we walked round to the shop to get some food for dinner - after a failed attempt to go watch the sunset (we left far too early!). Had an awesome dinner, made some spaghetti bolognese and even managed garlic bread without an oven! So much easier to cook for two. After dinner we watched a movie on the tv...I think it was called Kingpin? Very, very odd...almost wished I hadn't bothered haha. Was a good chilled day though.
