We got up fairly early this morning to go surfing! We had somehow accumulated a pretty big group: the four of us, Niko from my room, Gareth the English guy and Sven's two German girls. The hostel's "free" surfboards turned out to be two very weather beaten ones, so the Germans hired some from down the road after I had put down my $100 deposit as a mix of pounds, US dollars, and euros...my credit card was still refusing to give me any money!
Had a brilliant morning at the beach, surfing for a few hours then just chilling out, messing about with Leonie's camera and stuff which was really fun! By early afternoon it was getting far too hot so we headed back.
After a quick rest, Sian, Leonie, Gareth and I headed for the supermarket to get supplies for dinner, stopping for Internet at Peterpans on the way. We had decided to make an awesome dinner of Kangaroo steak burgers that night! So we bought all the stuff and headed back!
We had lost touch with Sven after the beach and not heard from him which was a bit weird, but saw him in the kitchen when we got back! He said he hadn't got my texts which was a not rubbish and I figured the phones must be playing up. He had already cooked some noodles so didn't want any kangaroo, so we decided to keep the 4th steak for sandwiches the next day. Dinner was epic!! The kangaroo meat was lovely, and had such a good dinner of kangaroo burgers and salad! It was actually amazing!
We had planned a bit of a proper night out that night, and after dinner had a bit of a nap etc then got ready and met out on the veranda at the hostel which was quite nice for a few drinks. While there we met a Canadian girl who was a hairdresser from Canada and she was pretty nice! She ended up leaving a bit before us to go out.
We ended up heading to Nomads again as it was meant to be their "backpacker night" and really busy...unfortunately it wasn't exactly our scene, just a load of really drunk people and there were things like wet Tshirt competitions on...I was so unimpressed. After attempting to stick it out for a bit we tried the only other bar in town, across the road! Everyone was pretty drunk there too and by that stage I couldn't really be bothered with them all really. Leonie and I decided to just go on home, but Sian stayed out with her friend James again. Was glad I went back and into my bed to be honest!
