Got up fairly early this morning, had to check out of the hostel by 9.30 which was pretty harsh but oh well. It was Australia Day which is a big holiday over here (funnily enough, haha!) but we didn't really have anything overly exciting planned to celebrate! Jacky and I went to get the ferry to Magnetic Island! It's pretty cool, we were staying at Bungalow Bay hostel which is a koala/wildlife sanctuary as well as a hostel which is pretty awesome! As I was checking in I ran into Beth and Owen which was cool, and arranged to see them later on as they were going snorkelling. Jacky and I went down to the beach at Horseshoe bay near the hostel which is pretty nice, but it was a bit rainy and you can't swim in the sea there because of stingers so that was a bit rubbish! We ended up going back and chilling in the hostel pool for a bit to escape the heat! We saw loads of lorikeets (birds!) at our hostel getting fed which was a bit mad.

Later on we had some dinner and drinks with Beth and Owen! It was really nice to see them again. The bar at the hostel was doing coconut bowling - actually just bowling using coconuts as a ball haha! It was good craic, and Beth and I managed to win free drinks with some flukey good shots haha! Had a really good night just sitting at the hostel bar (which closed at 11 - definitely not a mad one!).
