Up at 6am. We went to Madness cycling and got our bikes, helmets, wet weather gear, vests. Headed to Coroico, the Death Road. The first 25kms of the road was bitumen with lots of traffic. Then we turned off onto the gravel road. The road was windy and bumpy. There were steep descents and sharp corners. We went through waterfalls and over little rivers. There were a lot of crosses on the side of the cliff faces which constantly reminded me of the dangers on this road. The scenery was spectacular. What an experience, it was exhilarating. Once we finished our descent we went to a hotel out in the middle of nowhere for a buffet lunch and a much needed swim in their pool. Back to La Paz at 6.30pm. Early night tonight crossing border to Peru tomorrow.
