14th March
Left Potosi at 6am heading for La Paz. La Paz is 3650 metres above sea level and is the highest capital city in the world. Was founded in 1548. It was Raining heavy and traffic was terrible. There was a great lookout as we entered the city with large mountain range in the distance. La Paz is in a huge valley. Settled into motel and went out for tea at Olivers Travels. The tenants upstairs complained about the noise so the lights were turned out. Had to walk up steep streets to get back home.
15th March
Went on a city tour where our first stop was The Valley of the Moon. Very interesting place. Walked around for about 45 minutes and could see the golf course in the distance. Visited a few lookouts and then headed for the town square. There was a protest and lots of police around. Then we headed for the witches markets. There were a lot of Llama feutus´in the shops ' apparantly good luck. Walked around the markets for the rest of the afternoon getting prepared for our Jungle adventure tomorrow.
