As it was our last day on this paradise isle, I wanted to squeeze one last bit of snorkelling in. So I got up at 8am, got a kayak & headed out to our original spot. Again the snorkelling was fantastic, watching this beautiful other & seemingly alien other world from above. I saw the usual suspects that I'd seen before, but also a small jellyfish, along with a translucent worm of some description floating just ahead of me. It's a shame I can't name the fish I saw, but hopefully anyone who's snorkelled on a reef before or who's dived, can picture the scene. 2 hours later, I headed back for delicious bagels & to pack. A quick Skype with my folks & a taxi back to the port & we were on the ferry back to the mainland, bidding a sorry goodbye to Roatan. Rach & I slept most of the way & then with the girls, caught a taxi, followed by a bus across to Tela. We checked into one of the few places around, the Safari Lodge & then noticed that the locks on pretty much all the doors had been jimmied! D'oh! Oh well, looks like we're taking most of our valuables with us, or doing my usual trick of finding the best hiding places for our most important stuff. (And it turns out, I'm pretty good at that!). The 4 of us headed out to find an ATM & then checked out the restaurants on the beachfront. We seemed to pick the most expensive, but the food was so good & they were so accommodating (putting a table outside for us), that we didn't care. (I went for a Michelada here, which is about the 4th or 5th place I've had one. Methinks I'll be possibly trying to make them at home). There didn't seem to be much else open or going on in the town & as the girls were getting up early, we all headed back & let the tv ease us to sleep.
