For some unknown reason, I just couldn't sleep last night, so decided to stay local today & try & catch up on Zzzzs. So Rach headed out to take in the sights of the city. As per usual, the main places of interest within a Central American city centre are either churches or museums. The churches here have wonderfully ornate & colourful fronts, but were very bland inside & the cathedral, literally only had it's 17th century front remaining, as the rest of the building had collapsed! There weren't any museums really worth visiting, so Rach's sight-seeing ended there. When she came back, we nipped out to the centre for cash & coffee (or rather crap tea for me - the false advertising of 'rich aroma & smoky flavour' suckered me in!), before we headed to the markets to have a look around. Not exactly shockingly, all the stalls were selling the same tat as each other & the same as we'd seen across Honduras & most of the rest of Central America. So yet again, not much purchased here. We stopped at a dark, little locals pub for a cheap, but tasty meal on the way back for an early night ready for our shuttle bus to San Pedro tomorrow.
