Hey. we've just arrived at magnetic island. its lush here, we were due to stay in a hostel round the corner from were we are now but when we got there it was filthy. the sheets were still on fromt he previous person and the kitchen hadnt been cleaned in weeks. We checked out halk an hour after checking in and went to the yha which we have our own little hut and its set in a koala sanctuary. we've seen possums, koalas, wallabies, lizards, snakes and ghekos. we really love it here. the feel of the place and the surroundings are amazing. As we walked to go to a mexican for tea the other night there was a snake on the road warming up. it was the first snake we have seen since arriving in australia so that was good. it was a harmless treesnake but it was black and yellow so looked dangerous. were starting a diving course on monday to get certified as divers then we can go anywhere without going on a course first. Right just finished the dive course sort of. it was really good learning all the new stuff underwater and would be amazing when we get to the reef and stuff. we were due to get into the water for our first open water dive yesterday and as we were loading the truck up sumone saw something in the bay just over the road. we went for a look. the log sannk and then came back up. thts odd we thought as logs dont tend to do tht. there was a 3.5meter croc sitting in the bay. Seeing it in the water just meters fromt he edge was incredible seeing it swimming around in its natural habitat was cool. it was really scary tho. but just looked so sinister and evil. just the top ridges poking through the surface. so no diving yesterday but he was at the other end of the island today so we got into the water. visibilty wasnt good but think were going to the reef sumtime over the weekend. enjoy the new photos fromt he skydive and here and stuff. j x
