Hey. Just got back from Fiji. Well it wasnt as we expected it. When we were coming down to land in Nadi the pilot aborted the landing so we were back in the sky circling the main island which was nice to see. eventually down we found our way to the hostel and its was nice and clean so that was good. the next morning we were picked up by a windowless bus which solves the airconditioning problem. got checked into our boat and off we were to our first island. Bounty Island. This is the island where Celebrity Love island was filmed which doesnt interest me slightly. it was however a lovely island. we stayed in a 20 bed dorm but still managed to get sum sleep. the beach was amazing and most of the underwater pictures are from about 5 meters off the beach here. the coral was amazing. we also did a shipwreck dive from here which was really cool as it was 30 m down and we were inside the shipwreck and stuff. searching for fish with our flashlights it was wierd being inside a ship that your so used to seeing on the surface.
we moved to another island where we spent two days in manta Ray island. this island was ok with nothing special about it but did however havebeach volleywhich was a great laugh then a cool off in the sea which was a cool 30 degrees.
our next resort was callled Korovou. This place was quite nice and has plenty of entertainment with dances and a pool and the resort next door had baby turtles which you can see in my photos. The liitle one was called Bula, middle sized one was called Claire and david was the biggest. Bula is their greeting and all round word that you can say if your happy or sad or just fancy a shout. i liked saying Bula alot.
Onwards to another resort and this one was called S unrise which was horrible. the bed bugs and a plate of rice for tea is enough to put you off but the second day was worse. i got stung off a jellyfish and we moved rooms to a one with more bugs than the first. we both hated it there so aftertwo sleepless nights and not eating for 2 days we were glad wen we were leaving. The boat came to pick us up from the resort. we went to the deeper water so we could change tot he bigger boat and take us to another island. its started raining whilst we were on the little boat. this being their wet season it poured when it rained. ten mins in the rain we were starting to get annoyed. we asked them where the boat was and they just said its late. so after and hour of sitting in the rain we were really annoyed now. The people at the hostel could have radiod the big boat to find out where it was but the cud be bothered and said its not normally late. fnially after an hour and a half the big boat turned up but we were soaked and our stuff was and because it was a storm the big boat wasnt much fun either. we turned up to waya lailai which was beautiful. the place was clean and the staff were friendly and ash got a private village trip just me and her so that was good. we were in somebody's living room and there whole family came round to sell us stuff. i went to church which was a good experience as they are all really religious. we got sung to as we left and set sail for our last island. South Sea Island was nearly as bad as Sunrise. The beds were just a matress with a cover on. no sheet or anything to cover yourself. we asked four times each day and got nowhere. the food was not much better either. on our final day the boat took us three hours away from the harbour for a 30min journey which we didnt really like. The first thing i did when i got back to nadi and in the hotel was order a burger and chips which was heaven.
Paradise. i don't think so.
