Uneven Brick paths, narrow stairways, fast efficient trams with an easy to use ticket system, crooked buildings and late starts to the working day. We have moved to our apartment "La Vie En Rose" just down from the Crowne Plaza where we stayed the first night. The stairs are extremely steep and extremely narrow what fun getting heavy cases up. Luckily we are only on the first floor, the stairs up to the other floors are steeper and curve around. We have found it easy to get around and enjoyed walking around looking at the canals and houses and of course there are plenty of places to stop for a refresher. Today's highlight was a visit to Anne Frank's house, very moving and larger than I expected. It was good booking online and making an early morning visit meant it wasn't too crowded. Not so good was getting wet because someone didn't want to take umbrellas. The Van Gogh Museum was a tram ride away, how amazing to see so many of his paintings in one place. Must be worth millions.
