Canals, boats, bikes, pints of Heineken, crowds of people, pigeons, pastry shops, sex shops, coffee shops advertising permission to smoke cannabis, smokers in restaurants. After 31 hours travelling we finally arrived at our hotel. Just like an Amazing Race event after arriving and thinking I had planned out how to easily get to our hotel by train. Trains weren't running today so we had to get a bus and were dropped at a station we hadn't planned for. No names on the platform so on the train and just a guess that we arrived at Centraal Station. A 500m walk to our hotel but which direction? An enjoyable dinner at Brasserie Van Speyk just across from the hotel where there are lots of restaurants.
