Well guess where we are tonight? The Eiffel Tower was built in 1889 for the Paris Exposition and was not intended to be permanent. It took 300 workers two years to construct. It is 1,050 feet tall and there are 1655 steps from the ground level to the top and weighs 7,300 tons. You really don't realize its size until you are standing under it!

Wow what a busy city, we made it to our destination the subway system is crazy busy, people everywhere. We are now settled in and our temporary home for the next few days will be living in an 18th century building. Georgeous old building, we are on the 5th floor, walk up (no lift) in a neighborhood that comes alive at 6:30am.
