Chateau Versailles, what can we say, it is a symbol of absolute monarchy that was ruled from within its walls from 1682 - 1789. Louis the XIV moved his household from his royal abode called the Louvre to Versailles and Chateau Versailles would remain the Kings home until the French Revolution forced the king to move back to Louvre. Most of the beautiful artwork that was part of the royal collection was moved to the Louvre during the French Revolution. The Chateau of Versailles did not disappoint, the one hour wait to enter was well woth the wait. It is stunning, amazing and everything that can describe "Decadence". I wa mesmerized I only took 540 pictures, thank goodness for digital.
