...Reiki. Alex & Kylie's visit. Last shift as a Massage Angel...
My last days in Byron have been wonderful.
On Saturday morning I had the most enlightening session of Reiki set in the grounds of the Arts Factory where I was able to really connect with all the energies around me. Denise who was giving the treatment was fantastic and throughout the session I saw the most amazing vivid patterns and images.
I'd never had this sort of response to previous Reiki treatments I'd received and I don't know wherever it was down to my openness & the power of the area but it was unbelievable. It really engaged me and provided me with some focus on certain areas of my life. I left feeling charged and very aware of myself and my direction for the future.
In the afternoon Alex & Kylie also took a trip down from Brisbane to visit me before I headed down to Sydney. We had a lovely lunch together and I took them up to the iconic Light House. From the Most Easterly Point we were able to watch Whales passing the headland as they migrated South with their newly born young.
I also did my last shift as a Massage Angel in the evening then headed over to the Beach House Hotel to watch a live band. They were pretty good with a really interesting Ska sound.
I've spent the last couple of days going to yoga, a poi spinning workshop and practicing my full body massage techniques.
I'm quite sad to be leaving this place as it's been one of the highlights of my trip so far and I've really felt engaged and able to get in touch with my more spiritual & creative side here. I was offered a job but it'd mean I'd only be able to get by and wouldn't be able to save any money which I need to do if I want to do all the things I'm dreaming of on my over ambitious travels. Also you've just got to know when it's a good time to say goodbye as longing it out could tarnish the wonderful memories and feelings I have of this great place.
So tonight I leave this place with fond memories and a great sense of well being. I'm heading down to Sydney on the evening Greyhound to continue on with my travels and my journey round Australia.
One of the many reasons why I'm going to miss this place is that the travellers here at the Arts Factory & the people of Byron Bay have so much more substance than most backpackers I've met. They're conversations are more thought provoking & stimulating plus people here don't fit their nationalities stereotype which is really enlightening. I believe the reason why people here are like it is due to the openness and easiness of this place and its wonderful energy. It's very alternative, diverse and accepting here which creates a wonderful atmosphere.
