...Whitsundays Sailing Trip...
Just returned from my Whitsundays trip and it was a very memorable experience. I opted to go on a bit of a party boat called the 'Reality Is...' and made sure I got into the whole party spirit of the trip. Got an added bonus as when I first booked the trip I thought I'd be camping on the various Islands but instead we got upgraded to stay on a resort on Long Island so the first night of fun was welcomed in with cocktails in the outside heated jacuzzi under the stars... absolute traveller luxury.
The next day we headed out on a tour of the Islands and unfortunately we wasn't graced with the glorious sunny weather that I've got used to in Australia. We did a scuba dive near Chalky's but it was nothing compared to the reef up near Cairns or the Yongala. Also I wasn't quite sure how competent the so called scuba guide/instructor was as he took us on a pretty lame route. I was quite happy when the dive was over as it meant I could warm up on the beautiful white beach as the sun had finally decided to make an appearance.
On the way back to Long Island I decided to liven things up on the boat a bit by orchestrating drinking games and as I was the only girl playing I made the mistake of trying to keep up with the boys. Turned out to be quite a funny afternoon and evening with me necking quite a lot of boxed Coolabah red wine (Goon). One of the things that absolutely ruined me was downing the red wine through a snorkel. After getting thoroughly smashed on the boat I was a right off for the rest of the evening but I was quite pleased because when I woke the next day I felt amazing as I'd just got the longest most peaceful sleep of my trip so far.
