Today was our last morning in Rome. After a breakfast of coffee and a pastry at the corner 'bar' we returned to the apartment To pack. We were picked up and transferred to the port of Civitavecchia, one hour from Rome, where we embarked the MSC cruise liner 'Preziosa' to begin our 7 day cruise of the Mediterranean.
We set sail at 7pm for Palermo, Sicily to arrive at 1pm the next day.
The ship is enormous. It carries 3000+ passengers and resembles a floating city with shops, restaurants, bars, gym and many other attractions and facilities.
We eat breakfast and dinner at an al a carte restaurant. We purchased the premium drinks package which entitles us to free drinks of any description, espresso coffees and patisseries, free mini bar as well as free room service!
I haven't had a beer yet because I'm determined to try every cocktail on the list. Needless to say we are all very merry!
