Today we decided to catch a train to Naples. We arrived 2hours later but having to take the 2.44pm return did not leave much time for sightseeing. We struggled in the heat and quickly tired of the walking. We found a hole in the wall deli where they cut a crusty loaf in half, stuffed it with mortadella and cut it in half. Mum and I thought we had died and gone to heaven!
We caught the return and Tony and Maria joined us along the way as they had spent the previous 5 days in Itri with relatives.
In the evening we went out and had a lovely meal, serenaded by an accordionist. Afterwards, we walked to see the Coloseum at night. Wow!
At about 12am, after watching some projected imagery, we walked to the Piazza Venezia where we caught a taxi to the apartment.
