Left our hotel in Tucson after breakfast this morning. Alex the nice taxi driver picked us up and drove us to our rental car pick up office near the airport. After filling all the paperwork out we made our way to our seven seater dodge car (not dodge'm) . It was a good job we got a seven seater because we only just fitted our luggage in by having two of the seats down!! We set up the sat nav with the help of one of the rental car staff and he went through the controls for us. Alan took the wheel for the first drive with Nick by him as navigator and the rest of us as back seat drivers.! It was a bit nerve racking especially driving through Phoenix but Alan did very well. As we left the big cities and busy traffic the countryside was beautiful. It felt colder as we were getting higher and heading north. It also started raining as had been predicted. We finally arrived at Oak Creek ,Sedona a pretty mountain village surrounded by huge red rock mountains. Unfortunately it was still pouring with rain but it didn't worry us. We found our motel called The Views and booked in. The rooms are lovely and the manager very helpful. We dumped our luggage and ran over the road to a little bakery and coffee shop and had a welcome coffee. We had got food with us for our meal and the manager unlocked the dining room so we could use the facilities and sit around the table to eat we were starving! After eating we all went to our rooms and relaxed it felt very cozy and snug with the rain pouring outside. Looking forward to tomorrow morning when we can explore Oak Creek a bit more.
