Up early for our long journey left Hopi Reservation at 7am. Still windy. Trip started off well after a short detour around a ramshackle town! Drove through fascinating scenery again the first part was very quiet hardly any traffic driving through Rocky passes. When we got to flagststaff the snow had gone so it was like a different place. Weather horrible gale force wind with sand blowing everywhere! Not much to do around centre today the museum is closed unfortunately. We spent the day relaxing and packing for our journey tomorrow back down to Florence in Tucson. Claire and I fed the dogs again and then went to the little gift shop in reception and bought a few gifts to send home. Dinner was better tonight (couldn't have been worse). We left our hotel after breakfast on our way to our next destination at The Hopi Cultural Centre. It was another stunning journey travelling through rocky mountains, farmland small towns. Up early this morning ready for our trip to Monument Valley. We had breakfast and soon found ourselves driving towards the valley. The scenery was stunning and when some of the monuments came into view it was unreal. We drove into the valley hotel car park and parked up. We arrived at Kayenta about 3.30 and went straight to a Burger King where they had a museum about the code breakers native Americans who were trained in the Second World War to help in the fight against the Japanese using a special language the Japanese couldn't understand.
