We started the day with saying Goodbye to Townsville and what better way to do so than from the Castle Hill lookout. You get to see the whole town from there, incredible beautiful views.
We then started making our way up to Mission Beach, a pit stop at Lees Hotel - the Pub with no beer. Made famous by one of Slim Dusty's song, which originally was a poem. The background story is the Americans were travelling from Townsville to Cairns and Darwin in 1943 and they drunk the pub dry.
The next pit stop was a quaint little town called Cardwell. Beautiful, original, historical houses. Got to check out the museum. And got to see the old post office building which was the old Telegraph Station.
Didier could not resist getting a great photo with one of the questionable statues by the sea, showing a great example to the boys. What can I say ………………
Could not go past the natural spa pools, the boys had a great swim. Although, the water was to be a bit too cold for my liking. Didier and the boys spent sometime playing in the water and Olivier almost stoned Didier when trying to skip rocks on the surface of the pool.
Finally made the last leg of the trip to Mission Beach, passing a conservation park for Cassowaries ….. we saw so many warning signs, we were expecting to see the area full of Cassowaries, but we are yet to see one.
So, here we are at new Caravan Park, a new pool and another brand new experience. Didier showing the boys to break the pool rules and how to do it without being caught.
Movie tonight - Rush Hour 2!
