Well today was the last full day of our holidays. Tomorrow we head back home L

However, we had the best day ever. Starting very early we went for a day of snorkelling at Fitzroy Island. The island is not as big as Green Island but just as fantastic.

It started with a cloudy Cairns and we were a bit worried at first with the weather but once we got to the Island the weather improved. We got a tip from a local that Turtles were around at a particular spot, and as soon as we got into the water, we saw one and it was a big one. The spot was so hot that there were at least 4-5 turtles around of different sizes. We spent an hour easily checking them out and them checking us out. Next thing we knew it was lunch.

A quick stop to fill us up and we were told that we had to do Nudey Beach - and no there are no nudist there. It was voted as the 2nd best beach in Australia - although I would debate that- it was unfortunately not as great as we expected. We managed to see some great schools of fish, surrounding us while we snorkelled. The water was rough there so we did not stay there as long as we expected.

We went to have rest and a coffee before our trip back to the mainland.

When we got back, we got to check out a bit of the Aboriginal Cultural Festival that is on in Cairns this weekend. We stayed in the city a bit and checked out the Night Markets. We walked past the Fish Feet Spa, it is one of those places where tiny fish clean your feet. Loic and I had a go at it and our reactions made everyone laugh. It was a weird feeling, like having tingles on your feet but we were very happy with the job the fish did .

We are now back at the caravan park, getting ready for our departure day tomorrow.
