Didier Moutia's Travels
So we started the day with Didier doing the manly thing – emptying the s*#@er of the caravan! Once this task was achieved we made our way for Kings Canyon! Not a long drive but certainly an interesting one! A quick stop at Curtin Springs opened our eyes to a town stuck in past! We had the eye catching sign of no service if you are not wearing a shirt, to "Sheilas and Blokes" toilets and staffed with a German attendant! The prices certainly were not in the past – selling a toblerone at $6.60!!
A quick stop at a picnic area for change of driver saw a line-up of caterpillars playing follow the leader. Quite interesting thing to observe!
We then arrived at the quite famous Kings Creek Station, our camp site for the night. Quite quaint and interesting things to be found as Olivier noticed the ”Camels Balls” candies. The local cockatoo seem to be quite a favourite character among the visitors. He's always up for a show!
We decided to do a quick walk – The Kings Creek Walk in the afternoon. An easy walk allowing you to see the beauty and wonders of the canyons. It is stunning !!
Back at the camp, a quick play in the playground. Got a chance to pat the friendly camels!
Got dinner on the way, cooking on the only BBQ that the station seems to have! It was a challenge as we were fighting the ants. I don’t think I have ever seen that many ants. I had to dose myself in “Bushman” spray to keep them away, and finally sat down to a family dinner telling some funny stories!
