Well I must say that was the best night's sleep I have had in a long time - I just don't know whether it was because of the amount of alcohol consumed or the fact that there is absolutely no noise - maybe the hoot of an owl but that is it - bliss!!! The morning started with a drive to Blenheim Palace - the residence of the Duke of Marlborough and where Winston Churchill was born. The level of wealth and luxury is just overwhelming. 24 carat gilded roof and the lawns and gardens were just amazing. We ran out of time to do the Marlborough maze as just getting around the palace and the gardens was a journey in itself. Whilst cold, the rain held off which we where extremely grateful for. The Winston Churchill display inside the palace was amazing and extremely informative about one of the most famous leaders in history. After the palace it was back to Stratford upon Avon to see if we could get tickets to a play. After finally finding a car spot we headed off to the royal shakespere company to see what tickets they had available. The only decent ones were to king John that night at 7:30 in the swan theatre - now what to do for the next 3 hours????? As we wandered aimlessly around Stratford we found a lovely little Italian coffee shop - we refrained from having the gelato!!! Finally it was show time - I was a bit unsure of how Sean was going to go but king John was a hit!!! 2 rows from the front we were in where all the action was happening even though being that up close and personal to spitting actors is a bit daunting!!! It was a wonderful modern adaptation with even a dance routine from dirty dancing - go figure but Sean loved it - success!!! By the time we got back to badby it was after 11 the pub had just closed across the road but we had drinks so a couple of hours later we decided it was time to go to bed. Once again another brilliant night's sleep
