Di & Mal's Travels 2009
Today we took the train west to Windsor and had had a really good guided tour of Windsor Castle. Unfortunately Queenie wasn't in so we didn't have the pleasure of her company!! Great castle, the oldest continually occupied castle in the world, and the State Apartments are particularly good, especially the area which has been restored since the fire in 1992 ( 127 rooms were affected, most destroyed, but the contents were saved except for one huge painting and one very large sideboard). We saw Nell Gwynne's house and walked through the old town. We also walked across the Thames to Eton School but we weren't able to go into the courtyard.
