Time to do a few more touristy things on our last day. Myles and I went to the National Museum of Iceland and the Saga Museum. The National Museum of Iceland was very impressive, and the Saga Museum was entertaining. Shopping, coffee, and more shopping - then went to Hallgrímskirkja to climb the tower and see the view of Reykjavik. Left Akureyri to head back to Reykjavik for the last 2 days of our trip. Another beautiful drive through the country. Came upon the biggest rainbow I have ever seen - it glowed from a distance, and as we got closer, it looked like it touched the ground. Thought for sure I would see a unicorn too! Left Dalvik and headed to Akureyri then drove out east to see Goðafoss, Mývatn and Hverir. Heading north from Reykjavik up to Hofsos to visit the Icelandic Emigration Centre and meet Myles cousin Valgeir. Rainy drive for most of the way...on again off again.
