Decided to dedicate the day to some good ol retail therapy. Rather than cabbing it, we decide to check out public transit options as the large shopping centres were not very far, and on a major bus route. Our concierge gave us the lowdown and recommended we take the Metro. For $3.50 we hopped the bus just down from our hotel - piece of cake. None of us had taken a bus for a very long time. The mall area included 3 large malls all together on Saint Allee just west of downtown - Laurier, Place de la Cite, and Place St-Foy which included a department store called Simons. Spent the day shopping....had some crepes and wine for lunch. Excellent shopping with lots of different stores. We were all very successful in our shopping endeavours :)
We returned to our hotel to drop off our purchases, and have a snack and some wine before heading out for supper. We are so impressed with the hotel (Manoir De L'Esplanade) - perfect location - central to everything. The staff are soooo nice and friendly, and hotel is absolutely spotless. The cleaning lady is so sweet - she even lines up our many...many shoes when she cleans the room - big tips for her!! The breakfast is very good too - fresh strawberries, blueberries and grapes to put in our cereal, and delicious mini quiches. We will all be providing ratings on-line - 5/5 for everything!
Had supper on Saint Allee again - very good again - wandered down to Old Quebec before heading back to our room for the night.
We have come across a few rude folks...not too many, that once we identify as Anglais they are not so helpful. A few stereotypic Frenchmen....expressive...talking with their hands a lot.
Tomorrow is our last day in QC which will be a day trip to lle D'Orlean. Renting a car and plan to spend the day on the island.
