Another action packed day! Tour numero un - started with a bus tour to Montmorency falls - A large waterfall on the Montmorency River. Cable car ride up to the top, suspension bridge over the crest of the falls, and a perilous staircase to the bottom. Leanne and I are both scared of heights....so we cautiously enjoyed the spectacular views. Hiked all around the falls from the top of the hill to the base of the falls. Georgeous day to enjoy some nature time - sans mosquitos!
Back to Petit Champlain for lunch - then off to our next tour.
Tour numero deux .... boat cruise on the St-Lawrence on the AML Louis Jolliet. Very relaxing 90 minute cruise. Enjoyed some sangria and excellent views of the city and seaway. The view of the Chateau Frontenac from the water was spectacular. Can't express enough how beautiful and impressive the Chateau is....maybe one day I'll stay there in one of the 600 rooms - starting at $500 per night.
Stairs, stairs....and more stairs - oh and lots of hills too! Our legs are definitely getting a workout. Quebec City has a large cliff that separates two areas called Lower Town and Upper Town. There is one other option to transport yourself between the two spots, and that’s using the Funicular railway. The Funicular is not a staircase, but it deserves some mention. It is a railway located in the Petit Champlain district that will transport you up the hill between Lower Town and Upper Town.
More shopping - stopped at the SAQ (Quebec LC) to stock up and head back to our hotel to reboot again.
Headed out to Saint Jean street to a little pub to enjoy some live music. The street is blocked off for the evening - tons of people. Had some delicious flatbread while listening to an eclectic band - bass, fiddle and interesting vocals in French of course! We are thankful Leanne speaks French - she has been a master translator as many people don't speak English here.
Pondering activities for tomorrow......
