Christmas in Brisbane - not quite like the picture
Christmas Eve was spent working in the pub - got a gig in the Pig n Whistle on the Riverside, meant to be a British style pub but its not really. Anyway that meant missing out on the feast that was happening at Mike and Heidi's house. Heidi is Finnish and they celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve which means opening presents and having a massive meal, not turkey but still a meal I would have enjoyed. We stayed over at Grants as Santa had delivered some presents there for the two of us. It was a great morning. We had a big breakfast, loads of fruit, mango, watermelon, strawberries, you name it it was there. Also cold meats and salmon with croissants and raisin bread was served up. Heli had outdone herself. All topped off with Champagne, luvly bubbly. After breakfast we got to open our presents, yippeee. Hazel went first, then second, third...basically she opened everybody's presents and each one was greeted with a whoah and a look of pure amazement and wonder. It was great. Santa was good to her, in fact he was good to all of us. I got some aussie boxer shorts and chocolates which are surprisignly nice. Also got loads of money, more than I think I got in the last two years combined, so thanks to everybody that sent that over, it was greatly appreciated. Grant got one of Jean Paul Gautiers t-shirts and he looks like a proper sailor in it. We went to Mike and Heidi's for dinner and what a spread they put on. We did have some turkey along with some fantastic Finnish dishes. Due to it pouring rain all day, there was no BBQ. If I wasnt jealous enough of all the snow back home already, having Christmas day in the rain when I was expecting to be having it in the pool soaking up the rays didnt exactly help. Still was a good day. Played some pool, drank some beers and had a great feed at the end of it, all in all a pretty good Christmas really. The night finished with me towing the taxi for Grant and the rest out of the ditch on the side of the driveway, that was a laugh. The driver was having some difficulty getting out and even driving the taxi forward was proving too much of a task for him. Wasnt quite the Christmas I thought I was going to have over here. No beaches or BBQ'd prawns. Still an enjoyable Christmas day all the same just a pity about the weather.

Sven Thanks for taking the time to cisduss this, I feel strongly about it and love learning more on this topic. If possible, as you gain expertise, would you mind updating your blog with more information? It is extremely helpful for me.
