First stop in Aus. The gateway to the Reef and the Rainforest. Set up camp at Tropic Days Hostel which is really cool. Lazed around the lagoon for a couple of days (theres no beach in Cairns). Went on a day trip to the Reef. Went Scuba Diving! Its amazing, would love to get certified now. Saw two sharks! and loads of fish all different shapes and sizes. Bought a Land Rover Discovery which is awesome. Headed North to Cape Tribulation and into the Jungle. Camped in the Rainforest for 3 nights and went on some really cool walks through the forest. Toured the beaches on the way back to Cairns - stunning especially Thornton Beach and the beach at Cape Trib. Saw my first wild Kangaroo well lots of Kangaroos. They are way bigger than I thought and were totally unfazed. Met loads of cool people at the hostel and lots of incredible stories about their travels. Heading South soon and maybe going to think about getting a job although I haven't run out of money just yet! Good start to the tour and things are only going to get better.
