Adventures of a Global Wanderer
On my last visit to Oslo I didn't goto the Castle as it had already closed for the day. I'd seen the inside on a Korean travel show and I wanted to try again today to visit.
On arrival I didn't know if I wanted to pay the 70K entrance ($14) given Norway's high prices. I'd been to a castle in Bergen but then I thought this is Oslo, it has to be nicer, when will I be here again, so I went in. Good choice as it was really worth it.
Rather than have big empty rooms like the Bergen castle they were crowded with antique furniture. The walls were also adorned with many full size tapestries. None of this was in the Korean travel show I'd seen.
There was also a grand hall with many table seating arrangements beside wall tapestries.
Outdoors by the canons I was trying to recreate the shot in 2003 when I sat on the canons but couldn't do it.
A short walk away is the new Royal Palace similar in style to Buckingham Palace. This one however is open concept with no railings or barriers. There is a long span road providing a sweeping view of the city centre.
