Adventures of a Global Wanderer
The rain was coming very heavy and I walked 15 mins to the other side of town to two more musuems included in my day pass.
The first was the Maritime Museum. Along with Viking ships this explored all aspects of maritime life from mast heads, commercial shipping, sail boats, and explorers
Next door was the Cultural History Museum. This was probably the best museum in Bergen and most underrated.
Over the four floors it spanned Christian art, folk history, music, Ibsen, Vikings, wood carved furniture, crowns, swords.
The 4th floor covered explorers and had far flung territories such as China, East Asia, and the Arabic World. There was also a section on Egypt with Mummies and an XRay of one.
The rain was still pounding so I just wanted to go back to the hotel as I was completely soaked thru. It didn't seem like the day pass for 200K had paid off as with the off season closures I had only spent 180K on admissions.
There was an art gallery behind the hotel which included a Munch collection but I completely forgot because of the weather. I didn't end up taking the funicular because of the rain and I had a good view walking last nite.
I stopped by a supermarket and stocked up on some more fishburgers and juice for 48K ($10). I ended up watching lots of episodes of Home & Away, Neighbours, and Modern Family locked up in the hotel
