Adventures of a Global Wanderer
Tuesday morning I was excited about going to Huis Ten Bosch. This is a giant Dutch style theme park they have built complete with windmills. They even got permission from Queen Beatrice to build a full size replica of a Royal Palace. Excitedly I left my hotel and walked the short tram stop to Nagasaki Station. I reached there just before eight and asked for a seat reservation to Huis Ten Bosch. They told me the next train was 8.54 and will arrive there at 10.20. I didnt want to wait an hour and get there so late in the morning as I had to be at another location later in the day before it closed at 5pm. I went back in to ask for other travel options. They insisted direct was the best route so I suggested other routings as opposed to sitting an waiting for an hour for the next train to leave. I suggested an option of going via Isahaya. This one had the train leaving in twenty minutes and would get me there at 10.05 so I wouldnt have to wait an hour and at least could be moving the entire time. The train to Isahaya was a high speed train but the journey to the transfer station wasnt too long. At Isahaya I had about another twenty minutes to wait so time to figure out the right platform When I found the correct one it was an older nostalgia type train, similar to the old trains we used to have in the UK. This was called a 'Seaside Liner' so I assumed would take a scenic coastal route. The route was infact quite scenic as we were mostly riding along the sea. It was a clear blue sky with a clear blue ocean so very picturesque. Although it was very scenic it was a very slow route to reach the theme park. When I did arrive I decided to ask in the station what are the times to my next destination in the afternoon as I knew both locations today were a bit out of the way and I would lose time with both locations trying to reach there. I had to cover them both before the second one closed at five, although the Dutch theme park I was starting with remains open till the evening.
