Left Sancti Spiritus relatively early. A quite scenic hilly road and just over 2 hours later we reach Cienfuegos. A grid like layout makes navigation easy. Our casa is very centrally situated! We take a stroll down Calle 54 - a lovely pedestrianised street with the most shops I've seen so far. This is relative though! We leave Moron quite early - well if you call 8:45 early. Take the 2.5 to Sancti Spiritus. We get a bit lost going into town and then get directed straight to the casa by a guy on a bicycle. Very good guide as he points out where to look out for potholes, where to turn and waits when we fall behind. Our casa lady is lovely... She phoned around and found us accomodation for the next few nights. She wrote out instructions for each one and then a summary with the names, addresses and phone numbers - for us to have everything in one place. So nice. We chat to the Canadian couple for a while and the guy - Wayne - came to inspect how we could fit everything in the car. Feliz Navidad. We have a lazy breakfast at 10:00 and start off the one hour drive to Cayo Santa Maria with Bony M christmas carols keeping us company. There is a 50km road into the sea. This interesting looking road literally goes into the sea. We drive almost to the end of the road and find an isolated beach where we have a swim and spend the afternoon tanning and napping.
