Deb's Travels...
Captains Log. Star Date 23.05.05
Hello my lovelies!! Hope all is well with everyone back home... It has been a while since I last posted or added any photo's, so the time has come for a new postie and some new pics shall be added asap.
So.... since I last posted, not a great deal has changed for me, I am still on the search for a job, if by "search" we all mean- I am thinking about the fact that I should really get a job, then I am definately "searching", if it means actually looking for a job, I am struggling with the job search!!! : ) It did rain all last week which made me think that I should get one asap, as there isnt much to do when its raining (for free anyway!) but the weather this monday morning is nice and bright again, and its difficult to remember feeling like that now!! : )
Anyway! Less of that...
Gerringong.
Went to Gerringong at the weekend... The plan was to get the 1.12 train down, which was all going well, until at 1.11, while walking down the stairs onto the platform to catch the bleedin thing, the train pulled away from the station!?? How bloody rude! A mintue early!!!!! And that meant another hour's wait until the next train!!! It wasn't the best start, but refusing to take that as a hint, the 2.12 train (which actually left 5 minutes late....sods law!) was caught!!
Gerringong (said as if spelt with a J at the start) is a place about 2 hours south of Sydney along the coast, its a quaint little town, that reminded me, (somewhat strangely) of the little town that "Scream" is set in.... lots of cafes and red brick streets...it was really clean and very much 'local'. It was really nice though in the way that people say "hi" to eachother even if they dont know them, like if they are walking their dog and they walk past you they'll say hi! Friendly local folk! : ) Its really hilly, so I got to see some really amazing views from up top of them. There was green all around and if you went up the side of one massive green hill you would look out over the ocean. Cool as.
Going up the 'mountain' (big hill) at dusk created a really lovely scene, complete with pink skies that I tried to capture with a photo, but dont think I really did it justice...
Went out for dinner to a local pub with awesome food.... and then went to a place with some live music...(a guy with a guitar) he was doing covers...but of loads of songs I really love, so it was cool. Then his drummer turned up half way through the set and played with him for the rest of the eve. It was cool...and the alcohol was incredibly cheap! (which didnt bode well for my 2 units a day rule for my medical research!)
Sunday was started with a walk on the beach in the morning, followed by breaky at a local cafe (scrambled eggs and bacon on toast....the ONLY thing to let it donw slightly for me was the lack of tommy k! They had NONE in a cafe!?? It was still really nice food tho) and then later did some window shopping in the next little town over, called Kiama, and a bit back in Gerringong-which has the best surf shop...ever! And although I was tempted with many things, I only ended up buying one jumper, of which I am very proud of myself for the restraint!!
I shall stick up some pics over the next couple of days so you can see what I mean about the stunning views...
Apart from that, I am still selling my body to medical research!! Had some blood tests this moring, and got my first ever 'vein compliment' yes, I was told I had good veins today! : )
I have booked tickets to go and see the Stereophincs next month- looking forward to that!
Tom is back on the Sydney scene in the next couple of days so I shall no doubt hit some tourist attractions with him and take lots of piccies that I will add on here too!!
I think thats it for now....
Over and out xxx
